I Would Describe Myself As
If I had only one word to describe myself, I’d choose story. My life is filled with stories I’ve exchanged with people from all walks of life who I met through personal relationships and my career. The only activity I enjoy more than sharing my story is listening. Everyone has a story to tell, and I'm always ready to listen. I find people fascinating. This is what drew me to the study of psychology, my career as a therapist and my side job helping singles write their online dating profiles. I love helping people share and improve their life stories. Now I'm ready to enhance my own life story by finding my best friend to fall in love with and share my zest for life.

I connect with people easily because I make them laugh and am an excellent listener. I like when people feel comfortable enough with me to move quickly beyond small talk and share part of their life story. This demonstrates that they want me to know them beyond the superficial. I respond by openly sharing myself.
I know what I’m looking for in a partner; I used to be indecisive, now I’m not so sure. All kidding aside, I want to meet an intelligent, affectionate man who enjoys deep conversation and can also be lighthearted and fun. I want to meet a man who, like me, is demonstrative and passionate, both physically and emotionally. Having a goofy sense of humor, or enjoying mine, is a plus. I'd like to take an Improv or Stand Up Comedy class with my partner; but if that's not your idea of fun, there are plenty of other activities we can explore together. Although I'm not a homebody and I like to go out, I anticipate there will be occasions when we will stay home due to our inability to resist each other.

We don't have to agree on everything; I like a lively debate, but it's important we have common core values. I most value loyalty and the ability to commit; I have several close friends who I've known for over 15 years. I'm a skeptic, but not a cynic; loyal but not possessive; and intense, but not clingy or dramatic. My break ups with my ex-husband and ex-boyfriend were amicable, and my ex-boyfriend and I are still good friends with no interest in rekindling our romantic relationship. I value my health; I never smoke, drink, or abuse drugs. I want a non smoking partner who abstains from drug abuse; social drinking is okay.
While my goal is to find my life partner, it takes time. I intend to enjoy the process, making friends and exchanging stories along the way. In my book, there's no such thing as a bad date. If we don’t hit it off romantically, we may become friends, and if there's no connection at all, I'll use our lack of affinity for one another as stand up comedy material.

Thanks for visiting. Good luck on your search.

Boldness, Empathy, Flirtatiousness, Good Looks, Great Skills, Humor, Intelligence, Oddities, Sensitivity, Spontaneity, Thoughtfullness, Wit
What Do You Look For?
Why is an atheist web site asking us what we are looking for in a soulmate? I'm suspecting the owner may be an undercover "spiritual but not religious" New Agey type posing as an atheist. I'm looking for a lover and best friend who doesn't believe in soulmates to embark on spirituality-free adventures. I value intelligence, wit, humor, and kindness the most. It's important that my partner enjoys intellectual conversations and that we have similar values, though we don't need to be exactly alike; that would be boring.
