Newly divorced - cue panicked retreat. Academic - working on phd in 21st century anglophone literature, with a focus on speculative/arealist fiction. That means scifi & fantasy, folks. I believe Marx was spot-on with his diagnosis, but I'm a cynic at heart, and think there is no system of government that can save humanity from its impending doom. With that in mind, I try to get the most out of life. Teetotalers need not apply. I drink (good beer, red wine, and good whiskey), I smoke (cloves and other, ahem, herbal cigarettes), and I'm into shibari. I'm also a devotee of the Oxford comma. I belieef in nuffink, Lebowski, nor have I since I was 9 years old. Except Diet Dr Pepper - I belieeeeeeeve in that - I'm as addicted to bubbles as I am to nicotine (read: lots). I take the longest showers in the history of mankind, but go from bed to commute in under 5 minutes. I'm poor as a church mouse, or any other mouse, for that matter, but I like ramen, so that's cool. I've travelled in Europe, Asia, Africa, Canada, and Central America, and have visited ev US ste except Hawaii and North Dakota. I'd still like to hit Australia & South America, as well as Hawaii (you can keep North Dakota, thanks). I speak French shittily, but sing in French fairly well. I read and play video games, and I'm a trivia beast - quiz bowl paid for my undergrad.
